Las Vegas Woman Dies After BBL Surgery in Miami (VIDEO)

A 28-year-old woman from Las Vegas, Ahmonique Miller, tragically passed away just hours after undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery in Miami, Florida.

Ahmonique had traveled to Florida on March 5 with her sister, Kiera Barnes, to get cosmetic procedures done at Avana Plastic Surgery. On March 7, she underwent a BBL and liposuction.

After the surgery, she was taken to a recovery center called Keyla’s Recovery House — a facility that has now been confirmed to be unlicensed. She stayed there with her sister to rest and recover.

Things took a tragic turn later that day. Reports suggest Ahmonique was given medication that was not prescribed. She was put to bed between 12 noon and 1 p.m., but concern began to grow when she didn’t wake up for hours.

By 9:30 p.m., staff at the recovery center checked on her and found her unresponsive. Emergency services were called, but sadly, she was pronounced dead by 10:26 p.m.

When police arrived at the scene, they found Ahmonique lying face down, wrapped in heavy bandages, and already showing signs of rigor mortis — meaning she had been dead for some time.

An autopsy later revealed that her cause of death was due to “acute combined drug toxicity,” indicating that a mix of drugs in her system led to her untimely passing.

Her death has sparked fresh concerns over the safety of BBL surgery in Miami, especially as it relates to unlicensed recovery centers and improper post-surgery care.
