Nigerian Women in Mali Prison Cry Out for Help Over Poor Conditions (VIDEO)

A video showing a group of Nigerian women currently locked up in a prison in Bamako, Mali, has gone viral, sparking concern across social media.

The video reveals the poor living conditions the women are facing and the kind of food they are being served behind bars.

The video was first posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by a user identified as @chude__. In the clip, the women—many of them—can be seen protesting from inside the prison, calling for help and demanding to be set free.

In the background, voices of the women are heard crying out for freedom, clearly frustrated by their situation. One of them showed the meal they are given and said, “This is the food they feed us here in Mali. We’re suffering. We need freedom.”
