Notably, the fragment struck alarmingly close to critical components such as the processor and motherboard, indicating the situation’s perils.
Inquiring about the feasibility of repairs, the media outlet Mezha contacted Samsung for a statement.
The company responded affirmatively, revealing that the soldier’s phone is currently undergoing repairs at its dedicated service center.
“We are repairing it at no cost as a gesture of gratitude for his service and trust in our product,” Samsung told Mezha.
This response illustrates the company’s commitment to its customers and highlights its intention to support those who serve in difficult circumstances.
Despite the damage caused by the direct hit from shrapnel, which rendered the smartphone inoperable, Samsung assured the soldier of a complimentary repair, which meant the soldier would receive a brand-new Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Given that the cost of replacing the motherboard and screen could approximate the price of purchasing a new device, Samsung’s offering of a free repair showcases their appreciation and support for the Ukrainian soldier.
