On June 25, 2025, a pre-recorded video was posted on his Instagram and TikTok pages, where Tanner emotionally announced his own death.

The touching farewell message came just a few weeks after he and his wife, Shay Wright, welcomed their first child — a baby girl named AmyLou.

Tanner Martin was first diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in November 2020 when he was just 25 years old. Ever since, he shared his journey openly on social media, inspiring thousands with his honesty, strength, and positive attitude despite the pain.

Over the course of his illness, Tanner went through more than 50 sessions of chemotherapy and radiation. He also had six major surgeries between November 2020 and October 2024, all in the hope of beating the disease.
