According to local reports, the attackers arrived on motorbikes under the cover of darkness, catching residents off guard. In the chaos that followed, the village head was killed, and the gunmen took away several people.

Witnesses from the community said the attack continued well into the early hours of Monday. Many homes were left abandoned as frightened villagers fled for their lives. Several residents were also injured during the violent raid.

One community member, speaking on condition of anonymity, described the scene as terrifying. “They came in the night on motorcycles, shooting and burning houses. People ran into the bushes. We don’t even know how many were taken,” the resident said.

The herdsmen attack in Nasarawa has left the community in mourning and fear. Many survivors are now displaced, unsure of where to go or how to rebuild their lives after the attack.

Local authorities have yet to issue an official statement, but security forces are reportedly assessing the situation and searching for those who were abducted.

This incident is the latest in a series of attacks affecting farming communities in Nasarawa and other parts of Nigeria’s Middle Belt. The repeated violence has raised concerns about safety and the growing need for stronger security in rural areas.

As families mourn their losses and call for justice, many are hoping the government will take swift action to bring the attackers to book and restore peace to the troubled region.
