Popular Nigerian rapper and activist, Folarin Falana, known by his stage name Falz, has shared his thoughts on the performance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, two years into his term.

According to the rapper, Nigeria has not moved forward but rather taken steps backward under the current leadership.

Speaking during a recent interview on Arise TV, Falz openly criticized Tinubu’s government, saying that the promises made before the election have not been fulfilled and that Nigerians are still waiting for real progress.

“It goes without saying, that more than anything, we’ve moved backwards,” Falz said during the interview. “There is not much progress that has been recorded. I think I remember the campaign slogan being ‘Emilokan,’ which translates to, ‘it’s my turn.’”

Falz went on to question what exactly the government had planned to do with the “turn” they claimed. He expressed disappointment at the lack of meaningful development or change in the country.

“We are still waiting. Two more years are left. Maybe there is still a plan,” he added. “But as it stands now, for the first half [of the presidency], we haven’t seen anything.”

Falz, who is known for using music and activism to speak out on social issues, urged the government to focus on improving the lives of Nigerians, especially as time is running out in the current administration.
