Horror in Bangkok as Gunman Kills 5 in Market Shooting
Tragedy struck a busy market in Bangkok today, July 28, after a man opened fire, killing five people before taking his own life.

According to reports, the Bangkok market shooting took place near the Bang Sue police station at Or Tor Kor Market, a popular spot for both locals and tourists.
The attacker, dressed in a black T-shirt and carrying a backpack on his front, arrived at the market shortly after 1 p.m. local time and began shooting.
Eyewitnesses say he fired multiple gunshots, killing four security guards and one other person, believed to be a market vendor. Panic spread quickly as shoppers and vendors ran for safety.
Footage from the scene shows the suspect running through a parking lot, holding a handgun, moments after entering the market.
Police confirmed that after leaving the market area, the shooter turned the weapon on himself and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Deputy police chief of Bangkok’s Bang Sue district, Worapat Sukthai, said authorities are still trying to understand why the gunman carried out the attack.
Investigators are also looking into whether the incident is linked to recent border tensions between Thailand and Cambodia.
At this time, the identities of the victims and the shooter have not been officially released. The Bangkok market shooting has left many in shock, and authorities are urging the public to stay calm as investigations continue.
