Legendary Singer Connie Francis Dies at 87 After Viral TikTok Comeback
Connie Francis, the legendary singer once known as the world’s top-selling female artist, has passed away at the age of 87.

The iconic star, famous for timeless hits like Stupid Cupid and Who’s Sorry Now, died after being treated for pelvic pain caused by a fracture.
Her passing was first announced by Ron Roberts, president of her record label, and later confirmed by Universal Music.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Roberts wrote:
“It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that I inform you of the passing of my dear friend Connie Francis last night.”
He added that Connie would have wanted her fans to hear the news early.
Despite her age, Connie Francis had recently experienced a surprising return to the spotlight, thanks to TikTok.
Her 1962 track Pretty Little Baby went viral on the platform, capturing the hearts of millions. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner joined the trend, using the song in videos showing their kids, pets, or sweet moments.

One TikTok video by influencers Brooke Monk and Sam Dezz, featuring the song, was viewed over 158 million times. Even ABBA star Agnetha Fältskog shared the track, calling Connie Francis her favorite singer.
Gracie Lawrence, who currently portrays Francis in the Broadway musical Just in Time, also posted a clip of herself singing Pretty Little Baby while dressed as the singer.
In a recent interview with People magazine, Connie expressed surprise at the sudden popularity of a song she had recorded over six decades ago — and had almost forgotten about.

“To tell you the truth, I didn’t even remember the song!” she said. “I had to listen to it to remember. To think that a song I recorded 63 years ago is touching the hearts of millions of people is truly awesome. It is an amazing feeling.”
Before her death, Connie Francis remained active on social media, especially Facebook, where she often updated fans about her health and shared memories from her long music career.
Her life and music left a deep mark on generations of listeners, and her unexpected TikTok fame introduced her timeless voice to a new audience.
She will be remembered not only as a music legend but also as a woman whose voice continued to inspire across decades.
