Nollywood Actor Jerry Williams Reportedly Arrested By the Police

Popular Nollywood actor Jerry Williams has reportedly been arrested by security operatives in Nigeria. The incident allegedly took place on July 21, 2025, at his apartment.

According to a movie producer named Stanley Ontop, the arrest was carried out with the help of a man known as Nwafor Franklin, also called Izutech. Stanley claimed that Izutech should be held responsible if anything bad happens to Jerry Williams.

Stanley said he rushed to Jerry’s residence but met his absence. He tried to chase after those who took the actor using his car, but they were already gone.

“Before I reached Jerry’s apartment, they had already left. I chased them with my car, yet I didn’t see them,” he wrote in a post.

This Jerry Williams arrest comes just a couple of years after the actor was suspended from the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) in June 2023. The suspension was due to concerns about his drug use and how it could affect him and others on movie sets.

At that time, the AGN made it clear that the suspension was to protect Jerry’s health and the safety of his colleagues.

So far, there has been no official statement from law enforcement regarding the reason behind his arrest. Fans and fellow actors are hoping for clarity and justice in the matter.
