Peter Obi Will Never Be President – Wike Declares {VIDEO}
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has openly criticized Peter Obi, saying the former Anambra State governor has no chance of becoming Nigeria’s president.
Wike made the remarks in a viral video shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by a user identified as @ChuksEricE.
In the video, Wike addressed the efforts by opposition politicians to form a coalition aimed at removing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.
He first targeted Rauf Aregbesola, the former Minister of Interior, accusing him of failing in office. Wike said Nigerians struggled for months to get international passports during Aregbesola’s tenure and questioned how such a person now wants to “rescue Nigeria.”
Wike then turned his attention to Peter Obi, criticizing his performance as governor and his frequent movement between political parties.
“For eight years, he was governor but didn’t hold a single local government election. He ran the state alone,” Wike stated.
He also mocked Obi’s history of switching parties, saying:
“In 1999, you were in one party. In 2006, another. By 2014, you moved again. In 2019, you switched parties again. Now in 2025, you’re planning to move once more — to rescue who exactly?”
Wike questioned why people still support someone they barely know, suggesting that Obi’s presidential ambition is unrealistic.

The video stirred strong reactions from Nigerians online. Many users were angry that Wike made the remarks from a church pulpit during a Thanksgiving event. They accused the church leaders of allowing politics to take over a sacred space.
