Scare at Port Harcourt Airport As Air Peace Flight Skids Off Runway

An Air Peace flight heading from Lagos to Port Harcourt had a minor incident while landing at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

The flight, with number P47190, slightly skidded off the runway after touching down. Fortunately, there were no injuries, and all passengers left the plane safely.

Air Peace confirmed the incident through a statement by its spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe. According to the airline, the aircraft landed safely before veering slightly off the runway. There was no damage to the plane, and passengers remained calm during the situation.

The statement reads:
“Air Peace confirms that its Flight P47190, operating from Lagos to Port Harcourt this morning, had a runway excursion after landing safely at the Port Harcourt International Airport. The aircraft veered slightly off the runway without any damage. All passengers disembarked safely and calmly, and no injuries were reported.”

The airline also praised the flight crew for handling the situation professionally. They followed safety procedures to ensure everyone on board remained safe and calm.

While the exact reason for the runway skid is not yet known, aviation authorities are expected to investigate the matter as part of standard safety checks.
