South African Pastor Arrested for Kidnapping and Brutally Murdering 12-Year-Old Girl {PHOTOS}
A South African pastor arrested for a shocking crime is making headlines across the country.

On Thursday, July 24, 2025, 39-year-old Sonwabo Nqayi, founder of the Holy Burning Fire Ministries of God, appeared in the Motherwell Magistrates’ Court.
He is accused of kidnapping and brutally murdering his 12-year-old sister-in-law, Lithaliyanda Ntini.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Nqayi allegedly took the young girl into a bushy area in NU6, Motherwell, where he killed her and set her body on fire.
Lithaliyanda was reported missing on June 24, 2025, after she failed to return home from a nearby shop. Her burnt remains were found in the early hours of June 27, around 2:10 AM, in the same area where she disappeared.
Nqayi was first brought to court on June 30, facing several serious charges including premeditated murder, kidnapping, and obstructing the course of justice.

During Thursday’s hearing, the court refused to grant him bail. The State argued that the crime was planned, and releasing him on bail might allow him to escape or intimidate witnesses. The court agreed, and Nqayi will remain in custody as investigations continue.
The case has been postponed to August 28, 2025, for further investigation.
In a statement, the NPA said it is committed to fighting violent crimes and protecting the most vulnerable members of society, especially children.
This incident has deeply saddened many South Africans and sparked conversations about trust, justice, and safety within religious communities.
