Tragedy has hit the British royal family and Durham University community with the heartbreaking loss of 20-year-old Rosie Roche.

Rosie, a cousin to Prince William and Prince Harry, passed away on July 14, 2025, at her family home in Norton, Wiltshire, England.

Her family discovered her along with a firearm nearby. Authorities have stated that there was no sign of foul play, and they do not suspect any third-party involvement in her death.

A quiet, private funeral was held for Rosie, with plans underway for a larger memorial service at a later date. The official inquest into the cause of her passing has been postponed until October 25, 2025, while investigations continue.
