Train Derailment in Germany Leaves 3 Dead and Several Injured
A train derailment in Germany has claimed the lives of at least three people and left many others seriously injured.

The accident happened in the Biberach district, near Riedlingen, about 158 kilometers (98 miles) from Munich.
Authorities said the train was carrying around 100 passengers when it came off the tracks around 6:10 p.m. in a forested area.
Early reports confirm that at least two carriages derailed, turning the scene into what local officials described as a “mass casualty incident.”
Emergency teams rushed to the site, with rescue workers seen climbing on the overturned train cars to help trapped passengers. The exact number of those injured is still unknown, but several people have been hospitalized with serious injuries.
Heavy rain had passed through the area shortly before the incident. Officials are now looking into whether the weather played a role.

Interior Minister of Baden-Württemberg, Thomas Strobl, mentioned that a landslide caused by the rain could have triggered the derailment, though investigations are still ongoing.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz expressed his sorrow on social media platform X, offering condolences to the families of the victims.
Deutsche Bahn, the country’s national railway service, said it is fully cooperating with the investigation and also extended its sympathies to those affected by the tragedy.
