“I Will Die on a Sunday After Church and Pounded Yam” – Pastor Enoch Adeboye Repeats Peaceful Death Vision

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has once again spoken about how he believes his death will happen peacefully and without pain.

While preaching on the fourth day of RCCG’s International Convention themed “The Overcomers,” Pastor Adeboye said he is confident that he will pass away on a Sunday, after attending church and eating his favorite meal, pounded yam.

The well-respected pastor said this is not a new vision. “I shared it about two years ago,” he explained. He said he is bringing it up again to remind Christians that it is possible to die peacefully if you are in Christ. “I will die on a Sunday after attending service, eat my beloved pounded yam, and then pass on without any sickness,” he said.

In his sermon titled “Possess Your Possessions,” Pastor Enoch Adeboye taught that God has already made healing, long life, and prosperity available to believers through Christ. However, he explained that Christians still need to pray and fight spiritually to enjoy these blessings.

He referred to the Bible story of the Israelites, who had to fight to take over the Promised Land even though God had already given it to them.

“Jesus has already paid the price for your healing and success,” Pastor Adeboye said, quoting John 10:10: “The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came to give us life in full.”

The RCCG leader also spoke about poverty, saying it is not part of God’s plan for His children. “The One who owns silver and gold has paid a big price so that you won’t be poor,” he said. “If you want to remain poor, then you will. But know that it’s not what God wants for you.”

He added that society often treats successful Christians unfairly. “When a Christian becomes rich, people complain. But when they die poor, the same people ask, ‘Where is your God?’” he noted.

Pastor Enoch Adeboye encouraged believers not to accept negative conditions like sickness, poverty, or barrenness. He used examples from the Bible like Hannah and Rachel, who both overcame barrenness through prayer and faith.

He concluded by saying, “It is what we tolerate that troubles us. Don’t tolerate sickness, poverty, or premature death. Fight to take what already belongs to you as a child of God.”
