US Embassy Warns International Students About US Student Visa Cancellation Risks

In a recent post on X (formerly known as Twitter), the Embassy warned that students who stop attending school or leave their academic programs without official approval could face US student visa cancellation.

The message made it clear: students who drop out, miss classes frequently, or leave their course of study without telling their school could have their US student visa revoked.

This could also affect their chances of getting another visa to enter the U.S. in the future.

“If you drop out, skip classes, or leave your program of study without informing your school, your student visa may be revoked, and you may lose eligibility for future U.S. visas,” the Embassy said in the post.

The U.S. government takes student visa rules seriously. Once you are given a US student visa, you are expected to stay enrolled and follow the terms of your visa.

The Embassy advised all international students to keep their student status active and follow the rules of their schools and visa programs.
