Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has responded strongly to claims made by social media activist Verydarkman, who accused her of backing out of an agreement to apologise publicly to Naira Marley and Sam Larry.

The controversy started after Verydarkman revealed details from a meeting at the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF NCCC), where Iyabo Ojo, Tonto Dikeh, Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and their legal teams were reportedly present.

According to him, Iyabo had agreed during the meeting to publicly apologise for accusing Naira Marley and Sam Larry of being involved in singer Mohbad’s death, but later changed her mind.

In a recent TikTok live video, Iyabo Ojo strongly denied this claim. She described Verydarkman’s statement as misleading and manipulative, calling him “deceitful” and “corny.”

“So, you had to come out and do your usual manipulation. I’m not foolish—I’m wise. You’ve tried so hard to bring me down, but you can’t,” she said during the live session.

She went on to explain why she spoke out back in 2023 after Mohbad’s tragic passing. Iyabo said she was deeply affected by the disturbing videos and online posts that surfaced after the young singer died.

“I used to promote Naira Marley’s music until I saw a video of him dancing after Mohbad’s death. I was shocked and angry,” she said.

Iyabo Ojo also mentioned she came across a video of Sam Larry allegedly harassing Zlatan Ibile and Mohbad. That video, according to her, confirmed the bullying accusations many people were talking about.

“As a mother and a citizen, I had to use my platform to speak up,” she explained.
