The detectives promptly acted upon the information and then went to the scene to conduct some surveillance. Saw the accused and his accomplices approaching the team’s advance party vehicle, which was driven by one of the investigators.

The car was parked at the Baines clinic in Harare when the accused and his accomplices entered. The vehicle continued towards Mazowe Street.

The backup team watched from a distance as their colleague, the accused, and his accomplices exited the car and entered Mazoe Mansions Flats.

After some time, the accused put a blue and purple bag in the back of the advance team’s pickup truck, which the investigators later discovered he was carrying.

After presenting their police identity cards and introducing themselves, the detectives approached the advance team’s vehicle. They requested that the accused show a licence or permit allowing him to possess the lion heads.
