A Tennessee family, along with their two children, lost their home when a powerful tornado struck their community and even swept up their 4-month-old child.
The incident occurred in Clarksville on Saturday, December 9, as an EF-3 tornado hit Montgomery County, causing six fatalities and injuring over two dozen people.
Sydney Moore, her partner, and their children were in their home when the tornado demolished their mobile home and belongings, lifting their 4-month-old child into the air. Despite the devastation, the baby miraculously survived.
Sydney Moore recounted the terrifying experience, sharing how she instinctively shielded her eldest child when the walls collapsed.
The tornado tore their home apart, with her boyfriend witnessing the destruction and the baby’s bassinet being lifted.Describing the sequence of events, Moore detailed how the tornado targeted their home, snatching the bassinet with their baby.

Her boyfriend attempted to rescue the baby but was ejected from the home along with the infant, who was asleep at the time. Despite the chaos, the family managed to escape from the wreckage and began searching for their baby, all while fearing the worst.
After about 10 minutes of searching, they found the baby alive in a fallen tree, defying their initial fears. Moore expressed her disbelief and gratitude for finding her baby alive, attributing it to the grace of God.
Despite losing most of their possessions, the family has received support from the community, who rallied to assist the young couple and their children by providing formula. Moore reiterated her unwavering commitment to her children, stating that she and her boyfriend would do anything to protect them.
