London resident Nick Silverthorn, 48, spent the Christmas season purchasing a new razor for himself.

He claimed to have gone to his neighbourhood Sainsbury’s in Richmond to purchase a Wilkinson Sword Men Advance 3 razor for £2.50.

Upon opening his purchase and shaving on Boxing Day, however, Mr. Silverthorn began “bleeding badly.”

“I put on my shaving lotion and the hot tap, and I was on autopilot,” he added.

“I used one stroke to begin shaving on one side and then another on the other.

“I noticed after a few seconds that I had started bleeding badly on my left cheek and then on my right-hand side as well, and before I knew it, it was streaming down my face.”

According to Nick, who has been shaving for decades, these felt different from the typical cuts he gets.

After the incident, the gardener even experienced nightmares for months.

He stated: “I continued to see blood on my face in my nightmares because I had a terrible experience with surgeries and blood in the past. For me, it was a difficult moment.

The landscape gardener examined the razor and discovered that one of its blades was missing.

After the wounds took weeks to heal and left him with scars, Mr. Silverthorn decided to sue the maker of the razor.

He carefully saved the razor, package, and receipt while hastily snapping photos of his injured face.

He called Express Solicitors, a product liability expert, who contacted Sainsbury’s and recommended Wilkinson Sword.

The massive razor manufacturer offered to pay Mr Silverthorn £5,000 after testing the product.

According to Silverthorn, this was not your typical shaving cut. My skin was cut by it.

“For more than twenty minutes, my cuts bled. Since others might not be as fortunate as I am, I took action to safeguard them.

“This was a grave error. As a matter of principle, I took on and defeated the big boys.

Few people who cut themselves shaving would consider suing one of the largest razor firms in the world, said Jack Evans, the product liability specialist who settled the case.

However, Nick did, and he was able to prove he had earned a settlement by keeping the razor. It merely demonstrates that, regardless of how large the firm is, you may have a legitimate claim if any product causes you harm.
