Ban Sports Betting Apps On App Store- Reno Omokri Urges President Tinubu

In a recent tweet, Reno Omokri, a well-known Nigerian author and social media influencer, urged President Bola Tinubu to seriously consider banning sports betting apps in the country.

According to Omokri, implementing such a ban could potentially help in boosting the value of the Naira.

Citing figures from the National Lottery Trust Fund, Omokri expressed his concern over the astonishing amount of “1 billion dollars spent on gambling every day in Nigeria.”

“President Tinubu can immediately improve the economic conditions of most Nigerians and make the Naira grow by issuing an Executive Order authorising the Nigerian Communications Commission to ban sports betting apps from the App Store of any GSM Internet Service Provider in Nigeria and revoking the licenses of any physical sports betting operators in Nigeria. It makes better sense than Buhari’s draconian #TwitterBan.”
