Good News Foundation to bless women with free packaged food gifts on good friday in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
It is no news that the hardship in Nigeria has taken a toll on almost everything, affecting the economy and direct livelihoods of many families at this moment, leaving most families with a distasteful means of feeding and ravaging hunger.
However, despite government intervention, It became a necessity for a few nongovernmental societies and NGOs with a passionate and selfless drive to contribute their quota to save many Nigerians from hunger
In this vein, a new Non-governmental and non-profit organisation called GOOD NEWS FOUNDATION launched and, in her kindness, plans to contribute her quota by giving hundred (100)women free packaged foodstuffs to feed their households during the Easter period.
The charity gesture is part of the aims and objectives of the GOOD NEWS FOUNDATION as a means to alleviate the sufferings of the people in our society and put smiles on people’s faces.
According to the Project Director, Pastor Mrs oloyede Thompson Olawunmi, ”This is a long-time dream come true. I feel terrible about what is happening in our society these days, and I want to make an impact, not because we have enough ourselves but because we can use our platform to call people together to let’s donate to the poorest of the poor, All the food gifts to be giving out are majorly from fellow Nigerians who we approached, and they contributed though we are still looking for more sponsors and those who can contribute”.
This year, we are focusing on women from ages 40 to 80 because we feel they will, in return, go home to cook the foodstuffs for the entire family next year could be for men or even our children
She further added,
I, however, want to re-emphasize that this Project is limited to those who stay Only around the Obantoko environment as we plan more significant next year
Though it is for everyone within our proposed catchment area in respective of their religion, and it is nonpolitical, so everybody is welcome, she added.
The Programme is scheduled to be held on Good Friday, 29th of March 2024, starting by 10:00 A: M prompt Alajo Alayo Avenue, Goshen Estate Obantoko, Abeokuta.
