The Supreme Court of Equatorial Guinea recently decided that Balthazar Engonga, who’s been in the spotlight for a while, is innocent of the allegations.
They found out after they released more than 400 videos of adult content, where Engonga was seen with different women both from within his workplace, and outside.
The court found out that all the women in the videos were legal and agreed to both the meetings and filming.
However, the defence showed medical tests that showed Engonga didn’t spread sexually transmitted diseases to his partners.
The verdict was a big factor in his getting off the hook, making it clear that the defendant was innocent from the start.
After the sentence, Balthazar Engonga said he was going to sue those who made the videos, accusing them of breaking the law and slandering.
He says, the fallout from the scandal was really bad, it affected both his public standing and his relationship with his wife, Samantha Gemita Engonga.
The case is still being talked about a lot in the country, not just because of what the accusations are, but also because the media impact on people and celebrities involved in the scandal.
