Tinubu Begged Me To Help Him Conquer Electricity Mafia- Nasir El-Rufai
Nasir El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State, has disclosed why he agreed to collaborate with President Bola Tinubu before the 2023 presidential election.
El-Rufai parted with the present administration after being passed up for a ministerial seat in the National Assembly.
According to Naija News, the ex-FCT Minister stated on Arise Television’s Prime Time program on Monday that he had no desire to become Minister after serving two terms as Governor.
He claimed Tinubu approached and implored him to collaborate with him to address the country’s electrical crisis, something no other president had done.
El-Rufai stated that the challenge convinced him to collaborate with Tinubu.
He stated, “The President is free to change his mind. I never wanted this job in the first place. I was a minister twenty years ago. I told Tinubu that I didn’t want to be Minister. I’m not interested.
“He appealed to me and urged me. He issued me a challenge. What was the challenge? Nobody has fixed the electricity.
“No president has conquered the electricity mafia. You and I can work together to combat it. The challenge compelled me to accept.”
