Meranda, who is from Apapa Constituency I, said she was stepping down because of choices made by her party in her resignation speech on Monday.

In front of the 40-member Assembly, she said, “I am not a quitter.”

Even though she quit as Speaker, she was chosen again right away as Deputy Speaker of the House.

Obasa returns to the Speaker’s place after being removed from office.
