Samsung Halts One UI 7 Update For Galaxy Users Due To Glitch. Here’s How It Affects US Users

Samsung has put a pause on the global rollout of One UI 7, including in the US, due to a serious bug affecting Galaxy devices, particularly the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold6, and Z Flip6.

The issue was first reported in South Korea and involves problems with unlocking phones after the update, impacting both Exynos and Snapdragon variants.

For Galaxy owners in the US, this means the stable One UI 7 update, which started rolling out in the US on April 10, 2025, is no longer available for download. Samsung has removed the BYCH software version from its servers.

If you haven’t updated yet, you will need to wait until Samsung resolves the bug and resumes the rollout. No official timeline has been confirmed, but it could take days or weeks for a fix.

If you have already downloaded and installed the One UI 7 update, you may experience issues such as unlocking failures or, as some reports suggest, problems with the Secure Folder that may expose Gallery contents.

Samsung is expected to release a hotfix update for affected devices and regions, so keep an eye on your software notifications.

Currently, the pause is limited to the S24 series, Fold6, and Flip devices, but it is likely that One UI 7 for older models, such as the Galaxy S23, S22, and others, will also be delayed. These devices were initially scheduled for updates in April or May.

For instance, Samsung Vietnam’s roadmap had the S23 series and Z Fold5/Flip5 planned for this week, but these plans are now uncertain since Samsung removed the previously published post from the Samsung Vietnam newsroom.

After months of beta testing that began in December 2024, this setback is disappointing, especially since One UI 7 promises AI-driven features, a redesigned interface, and enhancements for Android 15. Like users globally, US users will need patience as Samsung works to stabilize the update.

While Samsung has not issued an official statement regarding the halt or details about the bug, the firmware’s removal from its servers indicates a focus on fixing the issue. In the meantime, US Galaxy owners should regularly check for updates and avoid installing unofficial firmware to prevent potential device problems.
