Rudeboy Celebrates as Jude Okoye Finally Regains Freedom After Months in Custody

Afro-pop singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has reacted to the release of his elder brother and former P-Square manager, Jude Okoye, from detention. The singer took to his Instagram story to celebrate the news and throw subtle jabs at those he believed tried to delay his brother’s bail.

Jude Okoye regains freedom after spending two months in police custody. He was earlier arraigned in court and sent to the Ikoyi Correctional Centre while awaiting his bail hearing, which was scheduled for March 3, 2025. His trial was set to begin on April 14, 2025.

The bail was eventually granted by a Lagos High Court led by Justice Alexander Owoeye. As part of the bail conditions, Jude was required to provide two sureties, each worth ₦100 million. He was also restricted from traveling outside Nigeria.

Despite securing bail, Jude Okoye was reportedly rearrested just hours after the court’s decision, causing confusion among his family and supporters.

However, in the late hours of yesterday, entertainment news platform Gistreel reported that Jude had finally met all bail conditions and had returned home to his family. A video circulated online showing the emotional moment he arrived home and embraced his wife, marking a heartfelt reunion.

Reacting to his brother’s release, Rudeboy shared a message on his Instagram story, hinting that some individuals had tried to hinder the bail process. He wrote that all attempts to frustrate Jude’s release had failed, and he ended the message by warmly welcoming his brother back home.

“Welcome back home, Jude. Happy birthday to you,” Rudeboy wrote, celebrating both his brother’s freedom and birthday on the same day. Fans of the Okoye family and music lovers across the country have flooded social media with well wishes and messages of support.
