An Assemblies of God Church, located in Okpu 2, Aba, Abia State, has reportedly called off a couple’s wedding after the bride declined to spend the night at the pastor’s residence.

As reported, the bride refused to stay at the host pastor’s home, a church requirement before a member is permitted to marry.

This procedure is intended for the officiating pastor’s wife to counsel the bride on the eve of the wedding.

Additionally, another church guideline states that a bride must take a pregnancy test before the marriage can be conducted.

Promise Uzoma Okoro, an elder of the church, stated, “The bride’s refusal to stay at the parsonage, as mandated, led church officials to cancel the wedding.”

Okoro mentioned that “guests had already gathered for the ceremony when the announcement was made.”
