Israeli Airstrike on Iranian Media Claims Life of TV Journalist

A government media worker has died following an Israeli airstrike on a building in Tehran that houses Iran’s national broadcasting services. Fars News Agency, a media outlet linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, confirmed the news.

The targeted building is used by the Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN), which is part of the state-owned Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB). The strike caused a massive explosion that was caught on video, interrupting a live broadcast.

The victim has been identified as Masoumeh Azimi, a staff member of IRIB. She was reportedly inside the building at the time of the attack and did not survive the blast.

This deadly incident is the latest development in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran. Israel has been carrying out a series of strikes aimed at weakening Iranian infrastructure, while Iran has also launched attacks in response.

Iranian state media reports that at least 224 people have died in Iran since the start of Israel’s bombing campaign on Friday.

In retaliation, Iran has launched strikes that have killed at least 24 people in Israel, according to a statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office.
