JUST IN: Liverpool Star Diogo Jota Dies in Car Accident
Liverpool forward Diogo Jota dies at age 28 following a tragic car crash in northern Spain. The accident happened just two weeks after he tied the knot with his longtime partner, Rute Cardoso.

Reports say Jota was traveling with his younger brother, Andre, who is also a footballer. Sadly, Andre is also feared dead in the crash.
The two were driving along the A-52 highway in Zamora, a route commonly used by travelers from northern Portugal.
Emergency responders in the Castilla and León region confirmed the tragic event. According to their statement, several calls came in about a car accident at kilometer 65 of the A-52, near the town of Cernadilla. The vehicle was reportedly on fire after the crash.
Police, fire services, and medical teams rushed to the scene. Despite their efforts, two people were confirmed dead on arrival.

The heartbreaking news comes shortly after Jota’s recent wedding. He had married Rute Cardoso, his childhood sweetheart and the mother of his three children, in Porto.
Just a day before the accident, he described himself as “the luckiest man in the world” in a heartfelt interview.
Fans, teammates, and the football community around the world are mourning the loss of a talented player and devoted family man.
