Former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has passed away at the age of 82. His death occurred in a clinic in London, United Kingdom.

Garba Shehu, who served as his spokesperson, shared the sad news on Sunday through a post on X (formerly Twitter). In the post, he said:

“The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London.
May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin.”

The news of Muhammadu Buhari’s death has saddened many Nigerians and people across the world who knew him as a strong political figure. He served as Nigeria’s president from 2015 to 2023, after previously ruling the country as a military head of state from 1983 to 1985.
