Popular Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola was hospitalised after facing a lot of pressure online due to having clashed with veteran actor and director Afeez Owo.

The scandal arose when Afeez Owo, the husband of actress Mide Martins, talked about Wumi in the movie in an interview.

Wumi was not pleased with his remarks and decided to call him out publicly, which led to a large number of responses.

Her reaction sparked a strong backlash among netizens and fans, most of whom defended Afeez by claiming he had the right analysis. The backlash soon intensified, and Wumi was soon the victim of trolling.

On Thursday morning, Wumi posted a photo of herself in the hospital, which proved that the situation had taken its toll on her health.

In her caption, she wrote, “Internet dragging and ICU are siblings.”

In the comments section, the actress expressed regret over her reaction and assured fans she would handle situations better in the future.

“I have heard you all; I will do better next time. Wish me a quick recovery,” she added.
