Nigerian Medical Student Tied Up And Beaten To Death By Chinese Nationals In The Philippines
I am deeply saddened to share the unfortunate news of the alleged brutal murder of Ikem, a Nigerian medical student, in the Philippines.
One of Ikem’s friends, Michael Ojuola, disclosed the detailed account in a post on October 22, 2023. According to Ojuola, a group of Chinese individuals is said to be responsible for this heinous act.
Reportedly, Ikem was tied up, with his mouth covered, and subjected to relentless beatings until he tragically lost his life.
Ojuola firmly believed this incident should not be overlooked, regardless of the relationship between the Philippines and China. He condemned the inhuman and barbaric nature of the act, stating that the devastating videos received from the hospital have left him speechless.
Ojuola urgently called upon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the President of the Nigerians In Diaspora Commission, and other relevant authorities to launch a thorough investigation into this distressing case.
Ensuring justice is served for Ikem and bringing those responsible to account is essential. Our thoughts go out to Ikem’s family and friends during this challenging time.
