Residents kill a giant whale in Bayelsa State.
On Wednesday morning, June 19, 2024, the residents of Okpoama, a seashore village in Brass Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, killed a giant whale.
Tuesday night, the whale, around three meters tall, roughly 15 meters long, and five meters broad, washed up on the beach.
The locals dismembered the animal using axes, hacksaws, and machetes.

According to a local indigenous, the whale was discovered dead after being without water for the entire night.
