A Nigerian woman recounted the reaction she received after telling her American students that she couldn’t teach lectures online due to the national grid failure.
Nigeria’s national grid has collapsed twice this week, plunging the country into darkness. Unfortunately, as fuel prices rose, many families and businesses were unable to run their generators.
In light of this, an X user took to the social platform to share how this ordeal affected her.
According to the woman who teaches Korean language to students abroad, she writes, ”I went to tell my American student we couldn’t have class because our national grid shutting down, and she thought I was in danger.”. Shame catch me.”
Reacting to the above, another X user wrote: “Reminds me of that time I was introducing myself on Zoom for a training; I was the only Nigerian. She said I was from Nigeria and a lady replied with ‘I’m so sorry.”
