Along the always-busy airport route Lugbe, Abuja, radio journalist Deborah Ohamara was crushed inside a moving vehicle by a heavy-duty truck filled with sand.

Although the accident’s specifics are still unclear, it was learned that Ohamara, a driver from the airport axis, was struck from behind by a car and collided with the moving truck. She works for Naija Info FM, 95.1 Abuja.

The truck driver survived, and one other individual received minor injuries.

The incident, which happened on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 3 p.m. near the well-known Aso Estate junction Lugbe, also resulted in heavy traffic congestion, which made it challenging for commuters to use the route.

FMTBLOG gathered that as members of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Police, and FCTA’s traffic management department attempted to leave the area, vehicles approaching from both sides of the highway were trapped due to the halted movement.

Ohamara, born in Cross River State, gained popularity as Naija Info’s “golden voice” because of her captivating on-air persona.

She began her career as a newsreader for CRBC TV and 105.5 Paradise FM Calabar, which the Cross River Broadcasting Corporation owns.
