Former Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, In EFCC Custody Over Alleged N2 Billion Fraud
Former Minister for Women Affairs and Social Development, Pauline Tallen, is currently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on allegations of money laundering.
Reliable sources have confirmed to The Punch that Tallen was interrogated by EFCC officials at their Zonal Headquarters in Wuse, Abuja.
Although specific details regarding the allegations against the former minister are limited, an insider familiar with the case revealed to the publication that it pertains to illicit enrichment amounting to N2 billion.
“The former minister arrived at our Abuja Zonal Command (not the headquarters) around 12 pm in response to an invitation, but she is still undergoing questioning by the commission’s investigators as of 8:30 pm.
“She is being investigated for alleged misappropriation of funds and illicit enrichment totalling N2 billion, with a portion of the funds supposedly diverted from the African First Lady Peace Mission Project.”
