Great news as Samsung’s internet browser is about to get a rather nifty boost, thanks to a collaboration with Google. Essentially, they’re integrating Gemini into Samsung Internet, which means Galaxy users will soon be able to get proper summaries of articles.

See, at the moment, if you’re using Google Chrome, Gemini can summarise an article by grabbing the URL of the page. This gives you a decent, comprehensive summary.
However, other browsers, like Samsung Internet, have been limited to summarising what’s visible on the screen, based on a screenshot. As you can imagine, that’s not quite as thorough.
Currently, in Chrome, you’d tap “Ask about this screen” and then ask Gemini to “Summarise”. This action sends the whole URL to Gemini, allowing it to give you a full, accurate digest.
The problem is, this functionality has largely been confined to Chrome and a handful of other apps. In Samsung Internet, Gemini could only work with a screenshot, resulting in less detailed summaries.
Now, though, some clever folks at Assemble Debug, while poking around in Google App version 16.10.40.sa.arm64, have spotted code that suggests Samsung Internet will soon be able to pass on the full URL to Gemini. This means Gemini will be able to analyse the entire article, not just what’s visible on the screen.
While this feature hasn’t officially landed yet, it looks like it’s pretty much ready to go. If and when it does, it’ll certainly make browsing on Galaxy devices a much smoother experience.
