Today, Meta announced that it has finally released its much anticipated Threads API, allowing developers to create experiences centred on it.
Concerning the API availability, Mark Zuckerberg said on social media, “The Threads API is now widely available and coming to more of you soon.”
Threads programmer Jesse Chen stated on his blog that developers may use the new API to publish articles, retrieve their material, and set up reply management features. Therefore, developers can allow users to reply to specific responses or conceal and unhide content. Check here.
The business said that besides these functionalities, the Threads API would enable developers to access statistics with metrics, including the number of views, likes, comments, reposts, and quotations at the media and account levels. The announcement was made during the Cannes Festival.
In a post on the news, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri stated that “businesses and creators manage their Threads presence at scale” and will be aided by this action.
For the first time, Mosseri brought up the company’s efforts on the Threads API in October 2023. The business released the API in closed beta with partners, including Techmeme, a tech news site, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Social News Desk, and a few additional developers.
